One review said: “Everything about the hotel is fantastic. Beautiful place. Fantastic staff that can’t do enough for you. Food is amazing thanks to the fantastic team of chefs. Room amazing and great attention to detail in every area of the hotel. We have stayed in 5-star hotels before but the Beaumont beats them all. Thank you for a wonderful stay.”

Another posted said: “Beautiful room with individual decor. Lovely attentive staff. As usual the evening meal was superb. No matter what you choose it is cooked to a very high standard. This is our fourth visit and every one has been spot on. An independent hotel delivering the highest standards.”

Travelodge at Hexham Gate Retail Park was rated the second-best hotel with a 4.5 overall rating.

The staff were excellent and always available to help out with any problems. The all-you-can-eat breakfast was absolutely gorgeous and constantly being refreshed. Drinks from the bar were very reasonably priced and I will certainly be using Travelodge again.”

Another said: “Spacious room, good lighting, everything clean and fresh, speedy lift, food and menu good, pleasant cafe bar.”

Station Inn, on Station Road, was also highly rated with an overall 3.5 rating.

I had an overnight stay while in the area with work, room was clean, bed comfy and free parking only two minutes walk away. Would happily recommend and will definitely be back next time in area,” one TripAdvisor review said.
